Our Team |
Ivan T. Thornton is a
Managing Partner at FMG. Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Thornton
spent ten years at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he
was a Vice President and a member of the Chairman's Council
in the Private Client Services Division. Mr. Thornton's
20 year professional career includes more than seven years
at Salomon Smith Barney as Vice President Financial Consultant
(member of the President's Council), and three years as
a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Thornton
regularly performs asset allocation strategies, manages
lump-sum distributions, and counsels wealthy individuals
on all aspects of financial planning. An enthusiastic
and popular speaker at universities, seminars, and symposiums
regarding financial investment and business strategy issues,
Mr. Thornton values the importance of fiscal responsibility.
Mr. Thornton received his Masters of Business Administration
(MBA) from The Stern School of Business at New York University,
and his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance
from Howard University. Mr. Thornton is a Registered Investment
Advisor and is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed.
Kimberly B. McLain is the Director of Investment Banking at FMG. In this capacity, she executes investment banking transactions and conducts business development activities for the firm’s clientele. Her primary responsibilities at FMG include mergers and acquisitions, financings, and fund-raising activities, as well as sponsorships, endorsements, sports marketing deals and other consulting projects. Ms. McLain has several years of accounting and finance experience in corporate advisory roles. Her previous work experience includes Investment Banking with Credit Suisse and Auditing with KPMG LLP. Ms. McLain holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. Ms. McLain is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Virginia State Board of Accountancy. She is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed.
John H. Howell, CPA has over thirty-five
years of experience working with small businesses and
individuals to address their accounting, tax and financial
planning needs. Mr. Howell’s career includes 26 years
with Ernst & Young, LLP (Tax Partner) and American Express
Financial Advisors Inc. Mr. Howell received his BA in
Accounting from Queens College and his MBA in Taxation
from Pace University. A Certified Public Accountant in
New York State, Mr. Howell has memberships with the New
York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute
of CPAs. He is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed.
Thomasina R. Thornton’s primary concentration
is in the areas of trust and estate planning, wealth transfer,
asset protection, and Estate Administration (Probate).
Mrs. Thornton specializes in developing and strategically
designing innovative estate planning and tax savings techniques.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey
State Bar Association, Garden State Bar Association, Metropolitan
Bar Association, and the Essex County Bar Association.
Mrs. Thornton earned her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers
School of Law. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) degree in Finance from Howard University. She is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed.
Allan Boomer is a Vice President at FMG. Prior to joining the firm, Allan spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Vice President in the firm’s Private Wealth Management group. At Goldman, he managed $450mm in investments for a select group of Fortune 500 CEOs, entrepreneurs, college endowment funds, and several of the top members of management at Goldman Sachs. Allan began his Wall Street career at Merrill Lynch in 1995. He is known for being very active in the community, serving as Trustee of Good Shepherd Church (Newark NJ), Chairman (emeritus) of the NYU Stern Alumni Board, and visiting member of the NYU Stern Board of Overseers. He also serves as a mentor through the Robert Toigo Foundation. Mr. Boomer received his Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship from the Stern School of Business at New York University and his BS in Marketing from Morgan State University. He is NASD Series 7, Series 66 and Series 3 licensed.
